Laura Gardener, MA, LMHC, CMHIMP hails from the great littlest state of Rhode Island.  She completed her undergraduate B.S. with Honors degree in Psychology, minoring in Philosophy in 1981.  This prepared her well to complete her MA at Seattle University in Existential-Phenomenological Humanistic Therapeutic Psychology in 1985.  Her interest in Comparative Psychology and her first readings of C.G. Jung were while at Brown U. and she deepened those interests while at S.U.  Laura served as Vice President and Program Chair in the Seattle C.G. Jung Society and then served as Program Chair and two terms as President in The Jungian Psychotherapist’s Association of which she was a founding member.  Laura is a Ukrainian Witch, a gardener, attended culinary school, trained as Post-Partum Doula, she raises chickens, plays the accordion, performs and composes music, and she has taught Hatha Yoga since 1982.  Over the years, Laura has worked with clients on issues of Anxiety, Depression, PTSD and Complex PTSD, Recovery Issues, Dissociative Identity Disorder and, as a Transgender Lesbian, Laura works with Gender and Sexuality issues.  Laura believes wounds happen in the context of relationships and that it is within relationships that wounds are ultimately healed.  Laura is passionate about ongoing learning and she is typically reading 7 or 8 volumes at any given time.  She believes in holistic self-care and care of others.  With any luck, Laura hopes to still be around for a while since her Mom lived to 99 and her Dad until age 101.  How she’ll afford to do so, however, is anyone’s guess!
